Sip On This: Fourth of July Cocktails
There’s no better way to celebrate the 4th of July (or any holiday!) than with an awesome cocktail in your hand. If you’re looking for red, white, and blue cocktails, you’ve come to the wrong place. Seriously, Google is your friend.
If you’re headed to a barbecue or day party to celebrate the holiday, these 8 cocktails are sure to be refreshing, potent and won’t leave your tongue looking (or feeling) blue.
1. Stoli Doli
Ingredients:
- Whole pineapple
- Bottle of your favorite Vodka
Directions:
Soak pineapple slices in the vodka for 2 to 3 days. Serve over ice or as a martini.
2. Festive French 7576
Ingredients:
- 1.5 oz Gin or Vodka
- Half lemon squeeze
- .75 oz St. Germain
- Champagne to top*
Directions:
Build the cocktail in an ice filled glass. Add spirits, squeeze lemon (feel free to leave the lemon in the glass, as the zest is delicious), and top with champagne.
Pro-Tip: Substituting a light beer for champagne is also a winning strategy.
3. Blueberry Mojito
Ingredients:
- 2 oz light rum
- 1 oz simple syrup
- 4-5 lime wedges
- 4-5 mint leaves
- 4 blueberries
Directions:
Muddle simple syrup, limes, mint and blueberries. Add rum, ice and top with club soda.
4. John Daley
Ingredients:
- 1 1/4 oz vodka
- 1/2 cup iced tea
- 1/2 cup lemonade
Directions:
Serve over ice or as a martini.
Pro-Tip: Use Peach Ciroc Vodka for a yummy peach tea.
5. Whiskey Smash
Ingredients:
- 2 oz Bourbon
- 3 lemon wedges
- 3 mint leaves
- .5 oz simple syrup
Directions:
Muddle lemons, mint and simple syrup. Add Bourbon and pack with ice.
6. Aperol Spritz
Ingredients:
- 1.5 oz Aperol
- 1.5 oz Prosecco
- 1 oz Club soda
Directions:
Fill wine glass with ice. Add Aperol, Prosecco and top with club soda. Use an orange twist for garnish.
7. Tequila Smash
Ingredients:
- 2 oz silver tequila
- .5 simple syrup
- .5 oz lime juice
- Cubed pineapple, mango, and papaya
Directions:
Muddle simple syrup, lime juice, and fruit. Add tequila and ice. Optional to shake all ingredients or serve as built.
8. Strawberry Caipirinha
Ingredients:
- 2 oz Cachaca
- .5 oz simple syrup
- 4 lime wedges
- 1 strawberry, quartered
Directions:
Muddle fruit and simple syrup. Add Cachaca, ice and shake.
